Family Restoration Counseling

Trauma-Informed Counseling Rooted in Connection

Children, youth, and families may face emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges following difficult or traumatic experiences. Koinonia’s Family Restoration Counseling Services provide individualized therapeutic support designed to help clients process past experiences, strengthen important relationships, and build upon the strengths and resources they already have.

Koinonia provides in-person counseling services for eligible children and youth in foster and adoptive families throughout Placer, Sacramento, Nevada, and El Dorado Counties. Services may be funded through Placer County Medi-Cal for eligible minors and nonminor dependents, Victims of Crime funding, or private pay, depending on each client’s circumstances.

Supporting Each Client and Family

Every individual and family brings different experiences, relationships, strengths, and needs to counseling. Our mental health professionals form a therapeutic partnership with participating clients, their caregivers, and other involved professionals to develop support around their individual circumstances and goals.

Services may be provided on-site, in the home, or in community-based settings, depending on the client’s needs and program availability. Through this collaborative approach, we help clients and families address emotional wounds, strengthen family connections, and expand the values, abilities, resources, and community supports that can help them move forward.

Private-Pay Counseling Openings

Koinonia currently has a limited number of private-pay, in-person counseling openings for children and youth in foster and adoptive families in Placer, Sacramento, Nevada and El Dorado Counties.

Our counseling team will begin with an initial conversation and screening to learn more about your family’s needs, answer questions about the program, and determine whether our services are an appropriate fit.

Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee placement with a clinician. Availability may vary based on the client’s needs, location, scheduling, and current clinical capacity.
