Ways You Can Support KoinoniaHow Donations Are Used
As a nonprofit, Koinonia relies on generous donors and community partners to help us provide the best possible care and support to the children, youth, and families we serve. Financial and in-kind donations enhance our programs and further our mission of bringing hope and healing through meaningful relationships and quality programs and services.
Your financial donation will help us provide things like:
Foster Youth Experiences
- Sports team fees & equipment.
- Summer camps & other trips.
- Music & dance classes.
Wish List Items
- Teddy bears, dolls, and other toys that help bring comfort to foster children.
- Laptops for school.
- Birthday & Christmas gifts.
- Extra clothing for youth who come to Koinonia with little more than the clothes on their back.
Additional Support for Teens
- Vocational training.
- Moving out and college expenses for youth transitioning at the age of 18-21.
Additional Services
- Specialized counseling and in-home services.
- Caregiver team training.
- Transportation.
- Educational tutoring.
- Professional visitation monitoring
- Family preservation services, including: parenting classes and counseling for the biological family.
In-Kind Donation Guidelines
We are grateful to everyone who wants to provide items for the children, youth, and families we serve. Because Koinonia has limited capacity to clean, sort, and store donated goods, most items must be new and meet the guidelines below. Gently used items are accepted only where specifically noted.
If you are planning a donation drive or would like to donate a large quantity of items, please contact Koinonia in advance to confirm our current needs and storage capacity.

The Golden Rule of In-Kind Giving
If you would not feel comfortable giving an item to a friend or family member, it is likely not suitable for donation.
Sorting or disposing of damaged and unusable goods takes valuable staff time and resources away from services for children, youth, and families. Thank you for helping us ensure every donated item is safe, useful, and given with dignity.
