Koinonia Family Services is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors who share a deep commitment to our mission and the families we serve. Our Board members bring a wide range of professional expertise, lived experience, and community insight, helping to ensure Koinonia remains grounded, accountable, and responsive to the needs of children, youth, and families.
Through thoughtful leadership and stewardship, our Board partners closely with agency leadership to support long-term vision, organizational health, and meaningful impact across our programs.

Krystal Edwards
President of the Board
Krystal Edwards has served on the Koinonia Family Services Board of Directors since 2019 and currently serves as President of the Board. She is a Principal Consultant at Kaiser Permanente, where she has spent her career in leadership roles guiding strategic healthcare technology initiatives that improve patient care, clinical efficiency, and organizational performance. Krystal holds an MBA in Data Analytics from Saint Mary’s College of California and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley. Her connection to Koinonia is deeply personal—she entered foster care at age 11 and was placed in a Koinonia Home for Teens at 14, where she experienced healing, stability, and belonging. Koinonia became family, inspiring her lifelong commitment to giving back through years of volunteering, advisory service, and executive board leadership. As Board Chair, Krystal advocates for foster youth at the state and federal levels, emphasizes strong stewardship and sustainability, and ensures every decision reflects what is best for children, families, and employees—turning pain into purpose and honoring the heart and mission of Koinonia’s founder.

Tricina Smith
Secretary
Tricina Smith, MSN joined the Koinonia Family Services Board of Directors in 2024 and serves as Secretary of the Board. She is a Nurse Manager with the County of San Bernardino Department of Behavioral Health, where she has spent more than 19 years advancing through nursing roles into leadership. Tricina holds a Master’s degree in Nursing from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and is deeply committed to community-based care, serving on Koinonia’s Board as well as the board for Greater Works House. Drawn to Koinonia through her experience as a guardian to a child with limited resources, she values the organization’s focus on meaningful relationships and holistic support. As a board member, Tricina is dedicated to advancing Koinonia’s mission and preserving the founder’s original vision—ensuring the organization continues to deliver compassionate, relationship-centered support to children, families, and communities in need.

Greg Im
Board Member
Greg Im joined the Koinonia Family Services Board of Directors in 2015 and is the CEO of IMPaX World Inc., a visionary leader and serial entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of experience across the health, nutrition, and technology sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and founded IMPaX World following a deeply personal journey inspired by his daughter’s autoimmune diagnosis, collaborating with world-renowned scientists to develop research-driven nutraceuticals, including the widely recognized EnerPrime®. Shaped by an underprivileged childhood and years of supporting children locally and internationally, Greg is deeply committed to helping youth overcome adversity. As a board member, he brings strategic insight and a heart-centered perspective, ensuring Koinonia’s family-centered mission continues to expand its impact and create lasting change for children and families.

Dorian McCoy
Board Member
Dorian McCoy has been involved with Koinonia Family Services since 2011 and recently joined the Board of Directors after years of service on the Advisory Board. She is deeply committed to creating hope-filled moments for youth in foster care and co-founded Angels in the Alley – Foster Kids Christmas (Dorian’s Angels), an annual event that brings teens together for joy, fellowship, and transitional scholarships supporting college, vocational programs, or employment. Drawing on her experience in the homebuilding industry, Dorian leverages community partnerships to build not only homes, but futures for vulnerable youth. For Dorian, serving Koinonia is a privilege and a calling, driven by the opportunity to make a lasting impact and help teens in foster care embrace brighter tomorrows.

Nick Webb
Board Member
Nick Webb, DNP, Esq. joined the Koinonia Family Services Board of Directors in 2023 and is a licensed attorney, Doctor of Nursing Practice, and Managing Partner at Balestra Webb Law, bringing a rare blend of legal, clinical, and executive leadership experience. A former military medic turned nurse, Nick served as a national healthcare executive at Kaiser Permanente, where he led nursing technology strategy for more than 72,000 nurses, and later as General Counsel for Seneca Family of Agencies, a leading mental health and child welfare organization. Drawn to Koinonia through a deeply personal family experience, Nick has seen firsthand the life-changing impact of Koinonia’s services and is committed to advancing the organization’s mission and expanding access to compassionate, effective care for children and families.

Joelle Hasty
Board Member
Joelle Hasty-Fuerst, MBA joined the Koinonia Family Services Board of Directors in 2024. She is an Account Executive at Lundbeck, a global leader in neuroscience, where she works in neurology and psychiatry across Medi-Cal and private insurance settings. With over 12 years of experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, including prior roles at Sanofi and Pfizer, Joelle brings expertise in strategic account management, clinical education, and stakeholder engagement. She holds a BA in Political Science with a minor in Theological Studies and an MBA from Western Governors University, with additional coursework in biochemistry and Spanish study abroad, giving her a broad, interdisciplinary perspective. Joelle was inspired by the organization’s trauma-informed, relationship-centered approach and is committed to using her strategic insight, advocacy, and healthcare expertise to strengthen community partnerships and expand Koinonia’s impact for children and families.

Jared Snow
Board Member
Jared W. Snow, DBA joined the Koinonia Family Services Board of Directors in 2024 and brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the private, public, and academic sectors. He currently serves as Chief Information Officer for the California Military Department and also holds roles as an Adjunct Professor with Palo Alto University and Doane University, Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the California Army National Guard, and Director of VIP-ManAlive. Jared holds a BA in Organizational Management and Project Management, an MBA, and a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), and is a Master Resilience Trainer with executive leadership certifications from Cornell University. Inspired by his personal experience with Koinonia’s services, he is passionate about advancing the organization’s family-centered mission through strategic guidance, leadership development, and sustainable growth.
