Compassionate Care. Evidence-Based Treatment. Hope for Every Youth.

Designed to Support Teens and Strengthen Families

Every youth deserves a place where they feel safe, supported, and understood — our residential services are built to provide exactly that.

Koinonia’s Residential Services—known to many as our Homes for Teens program—provide structured, trauma-informed care for adolescents facing emotional, behavioral, and family challenges. Through a relationship-centered approach, our teams focus on helping youth feel grounded, understood, and equipped with the tools they need to move toward stability.

Our staff partner closely with families and healthcare providers to ensure each teen receives the right level of support at the right time.

Whether you are a parent seeking help or a professional making a referral, we’re committed to walking alongside youth on their path toward healing and renewed hope.

Our Residential Programs

Koinonia offers a continuum of care that meets teens where they are—whether they need deeper therapeutic treatment or short-term crisis intervention. Our residential programs are located throughout the Sacramento Region and fall into two models: our Behavioral Health Programs (BHP) and our Crisis Resolution Center (CRC). Each program type offers a unique level of support — explore the programs below to see which setting may be the best fit.

Long-Term

Behavioral Health Program

A long-term co-ed program for ages 13–17 providing intensive therapy, crisis support, and life-skills development in a structured, home-like setting for 6  to 12 months.

Short-Term

Behavioral Health Program

Short-term residential care, typically under 30 days, offering crisis stabilization, therapeutic support, reunification planning, and coordinated transitions from hospitalization or higher levels of care, with psychiatric care options available.

Short-Term

Crisis Resolution Center

A Placer County resource providing residential stays of under 30 days, in addition to non-residential crisis support, family counseling, stabilization services, and 24/7 assistance to restore safety and connection for Placer County residents.
